Green Jobs – Green New York energy studies

New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA)Nova Iorque

Subsidised building-energy studies for New York small businesses and nonprofits using facilities of up to 50,000 square feet.

Esta oportunidade está atualmente disponível em inglês.

An energy analyst walks through your facility, interviews staff and analyses utility bills to identify ways to use less energy. The report covers potential energy and cost savings from both low-cost changes and larger upgrades. The assessment considers different fuels impartially. After the study, the programme helps identify possible utility incentives and financing for improvements.

NYSERDA subsidises the study, and you pay a fixed contribution per facility. You receive a reduced-price study, rather than a cash award or a loan. The customer contribution depends on the full-time-equivalent staff working in the eligible space or building:

  • Up to 10 full-time equivalents: USD 100.
  • More than 10 and up to 50: USD 250.
  • More than 50 and up to 100: USD 500.
  • Nonprofits with more than 100: USD 500. Businesses above the 100-full-time-equivalent limit do not qualify.

Full-time equivalents express staff working time as the equivalent number of full-time jobs. The study identifies improvements; any finance for installing them is a separate offering.

Eligibility

  • The offer serves New York small businesses and nonprofits. A small business must be resident in New York, independently owned and operated, and not dominant in its field. The study offer accepts businesses with no more than 100 full-time-equivalent employees; nonprofits can have any number.
  • The facility must be no larger than 50,000 square feet, including for a nonprofit with more than 100 employees.
  • You must own, lease or manage the building and have authority to arrange the energy-efficiency services.
  • You must be able to provide twelve months of utility bills for the facility.

The analyst follows up after the review to answer questions, with further optional follow-ups and implementation support from a regional Clean Energy Hub available on request.
