Environmental investment loan (240, 241)
Loans of normally up to €25 million per project for businesses financing eligible resource-saving, pollution-control, climate-mitigation or climate-resilience investments in Germany or elsewhere in the EU.
Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.
Finance equipment and process investments that reduce material use or waste, recycle resources, save or reuse water, control air pollution or noise, or remediate environmental damage. The programme also covers measures that reduce climate-damaging gases outside energy-efficiency and renewable-energy projects, and technical measures that strengthen infrastructure on your own business site against extreme weather and natural disasters. Planning and implementation support can be included when connected with an eligible investment.
The loan can cover up to 100% of eligible costs and normally provides up to €25 million per project. With approval from the responsible federal ministry, KfW can exceed that ceiling, although the loan should not exceed €50 million. Terms range from two to twenty years; the twenty-year option can include up to three initial repayment-free years and fixes the interest rate for the first ten years. Your financing partner sets the individual rate from your financial position and collateral.
Eligibility
- For a project in Germany, commercial companies with majority private ownership and self-employed professionals can apply, whether established in Germany or abroad.
- For a project elsewhere in the EU, the applicant must be a company established in Germany, an EU-based subsidiary of a German company, or an EU joint venture with legal personality and at least 25% material German participation.
- Product 240 is open to companies of any size. Product 241 offers particularly favourable terms to small businesses with fewer than 50 employees and annual turnover or an annual balance-sheet total of no more than €10 million. The federal government, German states and their institutions, municipalities, municipal territorial authorities and dependent municipal enterprises are excluded.
- Your investment must improve environmental protection beyond applicable EU or national requirements, prepare early for adopted but not-yet-applicable EU rules, or improve environmental protection in an area without legal requirements or limits.
- Refinancing and extra finance for projects already begun or completed are excluded. The programme also excludes land, most buildings, investments centred on energy efficiency or renewable energy, and most technical building-related measures.
- You can generally combine the loan with other public loans, grants or allowances within the applicable state-aid ceilings.
