Solar, heat pump and charging grants
Private customers can receive grants for solar panels, batteries, electric heat pumps or home EV chargers, tied to five years of electricity supply.

You can receive €595 including VAT for a solar photovoltaic (PV) system of at least 1 kWp, a battery, an electric heat pump or a wallbox for charging an electric vehicle. A new PV system of at least 1 kWp bought together with a battery receives €1,190 including VAT. New equipment replacing an existing PV system or electric heat pump also qualifies. Balcony solar systems are excluded.
PV, battery and wallbox grants require the gansGRÜNstrom tariff for five years; electric heat pumps require gansWÄRMEstrom WP for five years. Stadtwerke Gaggenau may adjust the tariff combination. If you cancel the supply contract during the first two years, you must repay the whole grant. From year three, you repay 1/60 of the grant including VAT for each remaining month. If you move, transferring the contract to the next owner is possible.
For a supplier or tariff change, the commitment starts when supply starts. For customers already on the required tariff, it starts on the first of the following month, or the first of the current month if the application arrives before the 16th. A later grant application adds its commitment after the existing commitment ends.
Eligibility
- You must be a private customer of Stadtwerke Gaggenau under §13 BGB and own the installation. New customers can request the required supply contract through the application.
- The property or consumption point must be in Gaggenau, Kuppenheim, Bischweier, Gernsbach, Weisenbach, Loffenau or Forbach.
- Only new equipment qualifies. Individual-apartment heating systems, self-built systems, prototypes, used equipment, equipment made mainly from used parts and purchases from private sellers are excluded. Warranty replacements and goodwill supplies or services are not funded.
- Each installation can receive support only once. Simultaneous grants cannot be combined unless expressly offered in the form; the PV-plus-battery option is an express combination. If you have already applied for or obtained support elsewhere for the same purpose, this grant is unavailable.
- You must pay your energy bills. Breaching the grant conditions requires repayment; grants obtained through false or incomplete information must be repaid immediately.

- Apply before purchase and construction; complete the measure in the application year. The annual programme may end earlier if funds run out or it is replaced.
Send the signed 2026 application to Stadtwerke Gaggenau customer service before buying the equipment and before construction starts. The terms use the installer’s invoice date to assess timing and exclude late applications. Complete the measure in the application year, so a 2026 application requires completion in 2026.

Submit all pages of the installer’s invoice within four weeks of its issue. Payment normally reaches your bank account about 14 days after receipt of the invoice copy. For new customers, payment is no earlier than 14 days after supply begins or the invoice copy arrives, whichever is later.
The currently advertised programme accepts applications subject to available funds. The annual budget is €100,000 plus VAT; the programme ends when it is exhausted or replaced. There is no entitlement to a grant. Terms may change or the programme may end for new applications, while approved applications and existing commitments remain protected.
