Rainwater storage grant for garden irrigation
Landowners in Landkreis Wesermarsch can receive 30% of eligible gross costs for a new garden rainwater system, up to €1,500 underground or €500 above ground.
Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.
Collect rainwater for watering your garden instead of using drinking water. The grant covers new underground cisterns or professionally installed above-ground rainwater containers on private or municipal land. The system must store at least 1.6 m³ (1,600 litres); assemblies of several containers are excluded.
You receive a one-off grant of 30% of eligible costs including VAT, capped at €1,500 for an underground system or €500 for an above-ground system. Your own labour is not subsidised. You may combine this grant with other funding unless the other funder limits or prohibits it.
Applications are prioritised by receipt date. The garden-irrigation allocation is €40,000 from April 2026, and funding ends when the allocation is paid out, at the latest in March 2028. There is no legal entitlement to a grant.
Eligibility
- You must own the private or municipal plot where the system will be installed, and that plot must be in Landkreis Wesermarsch. The project’s overall financing must be secured.
- Do not order the system or start work before the county approves the grant. Already purchased and installed systems cannot receive retrospective funding.
- Installation must meet professional standards and applicable technical rules. Systems using chemical additives are excluded, and public building-law requirements apply.
- Route uncontaminated overflow water into the rainwater sewer or the receiving watercourse; where there is a combined sewer, use that sewer or the receiving watercourse. You bear the operating risk. The county or its appointed representative may inspect funding use and system operation on site.
- Complete installation within 12 months of the grant decision. In justified cases, you may apply for one six-month extension. Grant money must be repaid for improper use or if later changes or facts rule out funding, including breaches of the guideline.
