Coup de pouce electric-car incentive
A subsidy for people living in France to buy or lease a qualifying new electric passenger car costing no more than €47,000 including tax and battery.
Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.
Coup de pouce Véhicules particuliers électriques helps pay for a new electric car. It replaced the ecological bonus for new passenger cars on 1 July 2025. This is a subsidy, not a loan: depending on the offer, the money is deducted from the purchase invoice or paid after purchase.
Participating companies, mainly energy sellers and their authorised delegates, pay the premium under France’s energy-saving certificate scheme (CEE). They support the purchase or lease and can receive certificates for the recognised energy savings.
There is no fixed national cash amount. Compare participating companies’ offers: the amount reflects certificate market prices, the company’s offer, your household income and any qualifying high-mileage driving. An additional enhancement applies to eligible models whose vehicle manufacturing site and battery production site are both in the European Economic Area, which comprises the EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
Eligibility
You must be an individual living in France. The limit is five supported vehicles per person across the broader TRA-EQ-117 scheme. That total also counts qualifying utility vehicles and vehicles converted from combustion engines to electric power under that scheme. Those other activities do not qualify for this particular new-passenger-car premium.
The car must meet all these conditions:
- It is a new, all-electric passenger vehicle in category M1: no more than eight passenger seats in addition to the driver. A dealer’s demonstration vehicle can qualify if you buy or lease it between three and twelve months after its first registration.
- Its purchase cost is no more than €47,000 including tax, including the battery’s purchase or rental cost where applicable.
- Its maximum permitted loaded weight is no more than 3.5 tonnes. Its running-order mass must be below 2,400 kg; this is the figure in box G of the registration document.
- It has an environmental score of at least 60, a rating linked to emissions from producing the car. The official guide links to the eligible-model list.
- You keep a purchased car for at least two years. For a lease, the contract must run for at least two years, excluding automatic renewal.
Household income affects the offer. A household means everyone living in the same home. A tax household is the people covered by one income-tax return. For each tax household, use the figures labelled « Revenu fiscal de référence » (RFR) and « Nombre de parts de quotient familial » on its income-tax notice. These tax shares are the parts assessed for French income tax according to family circumstances and dependants, not the number of occupants. Divide each tax household’s RFR by its assessed parts; if there are several tax households at the address, add these results. For a quotation accepted in 2026, the guide uses 2024 RFR, or 2025 RFR if available.
The special high-mileage enhancement is for households in income groups 6–8: more than €16,880 and no more than €27,310 under that income-per-share calculation. You must travel more than 12,000 km a year for your professional activity, exclusively in your personal vehicle. The earlier commitment and completion deadlines shown below apply to this enhancement, not to all applicants.
You cannot combine this premium with other aid under the CEE scheme, including social leasing.
