Rainwater cistern grant
A grant for Barsinghausen residents installing rainwater cisterns of at least 2 m³ to water gardens at existing homes.
Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.
Install an above-ground or underground concrete or plastic cistern to collect rainwater for your garden. Connected smaller cistern modules can meet the 2 m³ minimum, but ordinary rain barrels do not qualify, even when connected.
The one-off grant is €200 per cubic metre, limited to 80% of evidenced first-purchase costs and professional installation costs, including connecting pipes, and a maximum of €1,000 per house plot. The city pays after you have fully completed the installation and your claim is approved. The programme helps conserve drinking water and retain rain during heavy rainfall.
Eligibility
- You must be a natural person with your primary residence in Barsinghausen. The installation must be at an existing residential building within the city.
- Only one installation per dwelling or household with a garden and one per house plot can receive support. No subsidised installation may have been installed at the proposed location before.
- The project begins when you place the order or award the contract. Acquisition, professional installation and commissioning must follow the programme’s start on 1 June 2026.
- Use the water exclusively for your own garden. Permanent and temporary pipe connections to the drinking-water network are excluded. Observe applicable planning, building, water and wastewater law.
- Install and operate the system professionally. For five years after approval, it must not be dismantled and reinstalled outside Barsinghausen. The city may inspect the installation.
