Solar loan
An unsecured loan for salaried employees to buy approved home solar equipment from trusted suppliers.
Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.
DTB finances the purchase of eligible solar equipment so you can spread its cost instead of paying the full amount upfront. The equipment must be approved by DTB and covered by an approved supplier quotation.
You can apply for KES 50,000–6,000,000 and repay over 6–96 months. DTB decides the amount and term after checking your income, existing commitments, repayment capacity and the supplier quotation. The maximum is not guaranteed. Monthly repayments include the effect of applicable interest and fees.
Repayment can use an employer-supported payroll deduction (the “check-off” option) or an agreed bank instruction without payroll deduction. DTB confirms which arrangement is available to you; the payroll option may require your employer’s support.
Eligibility
- You must be a salaried employee with verifiable and consistent income. DTB checks employment income, existing financial commitments, banking and credit history, documents and repayment capacity.
- You need an active DTB account. New customers may apply, but must open an account and complete onboarding and loan assessment.
- Provide your latest three months’ payslips, an employer introduction letter in DTB’s prescribed format, certified ID or passport, a certified KRA PIN certificate and a completed loan application form. If you do not bank with DTB, also provide six months’ certified bank statements.
- DTB must approve the solar solution and supplier quotation. Panels, inverters, battery storage, mounting equipment, installation and related components require confirmation of eligibility; they are not automatically included. DTB and the supplier also confirm the acceptable installation location.
- No property or other asset is required as collateral. Income, affordability, documentation and credit checks still apply.
