Renewable energy grants

Gemeinde HorgenElveția

Grants for solar thermal collectors and batteries paired with solar PV at existing buildings in Horgen.

Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.

Solar thermal collectors for hot water or heating receive CHF 2,000 per installation plus CHF 250 per square metre of absorber area, up to CHF 15,000 per building. The absorber area must be greater than 3 m². A second hot-water system using non-renewable energy does not prevent support.

Batteries combined with solar PV must have at least 4 kWh of storage. Support is CHF 1,000 per installation plus CHF 100 per kWh. Second-life batteries, which reuse batteries for another period of service, receive an additional CHF 1,000. The battery grant is capped at CHF 4,000 per building; combined municipal PV and battery grants are capped at CHF 15,000 per building.

Municipal grants are independent of existing federal or cantonal support.

Eligibility

  • Individuals and legal entities can apply for buildings and installations within Horgen. New buildings and all their associated installations are excluded.
  • Federal, cantonal and municipal authorities, public-law enterprises, associations and institutions, public transport operators, predominantly publicly financed organisations, and commercial energy-contracting firms or similar arrangements are excluded.
  • Apply before starting the measure or construction. Completed renovations and already installed equipment do not qualify. The municipality checks required municipal and cantonal permits.
  • Applications are examined in receipt order, subject to approved funds; there is no guaranteed entitlement. The programme ends if its covered energy/efficiency standards or installation types become legally mandatory.

  • Apply before starting work; applications are examined in receipt order while approved funds remain.[^c2][^c8]

Submit your application and attachments to Gemeinde Horgen before work starts. If you cannot apply electronically, collect or order the form from Klima und Umwelt and submit it by post or email. The regulation gives Energie und Umwelt, Bahnhofstrasse 10, 8810 Horgen, energieumwelt@horgen.ch as the application contact.

The municipality notifies you of the grant amount in writing. Construction may begin after the building authority releases it, independently of the grant decision. Start within 18 months of the legally binding grant approval and complete the project within 24 months of that approval, otherwise the grant lapses.

After completion or commissioning, submit invoice copies and the commissioning record to Energie und Umwelt to demonstrate use of tested components and equipment. The municipality normally pays within 30 days after this evidence is supplied. Failure to meet conditions or project changes may lead to a proportionate grant reduction.
