Queensland Rural and Industry Development AuthorityQueensland3–6 K AUDindisponibil

Closed purchase rebate of AUD 3,000 or AUD 6,000 for eligible new battery-electric vehicles bought by Queensland residents and businesses.

Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.

The scheme reduced the purchase cost of new battery-electric passenger and light commercial vehicles. It has closed to new applications.

Businesses and households with total taxable income above AUD 180,000 a year could receive AUD 3,000 per eligible vehicle. Households at or below that threshold could receive AUD 6,000. Household income included the applicant and their spouse, where applicable.

Previous recipients of an initial AUD 3,000 rebate granted before 30 June 2023 could qualify for a further AUD 3,000 adjustment payment if their household income was at or below AUD 180,000 and their eligible vehicle met the original AUD 58,000 purchase-value limit.

Eligibility

  • Individuals had to be Queensland residents. Eligible businesses operated in Queensland under an active Australian Business Number (ABN), including sole traders, partnerships, companies, trusts and incorporated nonprofit organisations. Buying or financing under an active ABN meant assessment as a business.
  • Each individual could receive one rebate. Their spouse could also receive one for a separate eligible vehicle. Businesses could receive up to five rebates per financial year, each capped at AUD 3,000.
  • Vehicles had to be full battery-electric vehicles, bought new from a licensed Queensland motor dealer and registered for the first time with the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. Purchases from 16 March 2022 to 20 April 2023 had an AUD 58,000 value limit including GST; purchases on or after 21 April 2023 had an AUD 68,000 limit including GST.
  • The value test included accessories, options and other dealer charges, but excluded dealer delivery charges, registration fees and vehicle registration duty. Applicants affected by the removal of dealer delivery charges from that calculation were allowed to reapply while the scheme was open.
  • Licensed motor dealers, government entities including local councils, and fleet management organisations could not receive rebates.
  • Excluded vehicles included combustion-engine vehicles, hybrids and plug-in hybrids, used or demonstrator vehicles, conversions, heavy vehicles over 4.5 tonnes, electric bikes and mobility devices, electric motorbikes, trikes and mopeds, and electric boats. Vehicles managed or leased through a lease or fleet management organisation, or already subsidised in another Australian state or territory, were also excluded.

  • Closed to new applications. Historical terms only.

New applications closed at 11:59pm on 2 September 2024. Read QRIDA’s official programme page for the closed scheme information; QRIDA lists 1800 623 946 and contact_us@qrida.qld.gov.au for enquiries.

When open, applications went through QRIDA’s online portal. Applicants supplied evidence of their Queensland residential or business address aligned with registration information, the invoice and sale contract showing final payment and purchase date, payment evidence, identification, vehicle information and any additional documents required by the form. Applicants who were not the registered owner also supplied an appropriate bank statement, rental agreement or rates notice as evidence of their principal home address.

The higher rebate and adjustment payment required household-income evidence, including the spouse’s income where relevant. A tax assessment from one of the two most recent financial years could be used. Without that assessment, applicants made the portal declaration that they had lodged a Return not Necessary with the Australian Taxation Office, received a government pension or benefit, or were self-funded retirees. QRIDA could request further documents.

QRIDA assessed complete applications in order of receipt and usually deposited approved rebates into the nominated bank account within 10 business days. Applicants declared conflicts of interest and informed QRIDA in writing immediately if a conflict later arose. False or misleading applications could lead to penalties and recovery of funds.
