Green energy renovation loan
Borrow for home renovation that reduces energy use by at least 30%, with the reduction documented by an approved energy adviser.

The bank pays the loan out as a construction loan as you submit receipts during the renovation. Once you document an energy reduction of at least 30% and obtain an energy certificate, the borrowing is converted to a green energy loan. You repay the money borrowed together with interest and borrowing costs.
The published construction-loan fee schedule lists a setup fee of 0.10%, with a minimum of NOK 9,500, and a quarterly commission of 0.333% of the approved credit limit. Rates in the price list are indicative; the bank gives you an individual offer after you apply.
Eligibility
- Renovate or upgrade your home with a measures plan from an energy adviser designed to reduce energy use by at least 30%.
- Complete the renovation within three years. The green energy loan must be checked and documented by an approved energy adviser; a video inspection is sufficient in most cases.
- There is no required energy class: the qualifying test is a documented reduction of at least 30%.
If the final energy certificate shows a reduction below 30%, measures recommended or supported by Enova may instead qualify for the separate Miljølån, up to NOK 500,000. Other costs receive the bank’s ordinary terms.

Have an energy adviser prepare your measures plan and obtain quotes from tradespeople. Apply to SpareBank 1 Hallingdal Valdres through its green energy loan application page, then submit receipts as the renovation progresses. At completion, obtain an energy certificate documenting the saving so the bank can convert the construction loan.
