Ecological subsidies for home renovation
Grants for dwelling owners in Walferdange who have received a qualifying national award for insulation, windows or heat-recovery ventilation.

This entry covers the home-renovation part of the municipal ecological-subsidy scheme. The municipality adds a grant to the qualifying national renovation aid for the same completed works.
For insulation and windows, the municipal grant is 30% of the national aid, including its bonus. For ventilation that recovers heat from outgoing air, it is 35%. Each measure also has a ceiling that depends on whether the claim concerns a single-family house, an apartment within a collective building, or a whole collective building.

These are ceilings for each listed measure, not guaranteed payments. National and municipal aid together cannot exceed the actual costs of the subsidised elements; the municipality reduces its grant if needed. Awards depend on the available municipal budget.
Eligibility
- You must own a dwelling in the municipality of Walferdange and already have received the qualifying national renovation award for the completed works.
- The municipal route requires national aid under Article 4 of the amended law of 23 December 2016, with the works meeting Article 1 and Annexes I and II of the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 7 April 2022. This is the legacy national renovation framework: the current national guidance keeps it for energy assessments carried out before 31 December 2025 where the application for an agreement in principle was submitted by that date. This municipal route is for holders of that qualifying award.
- The signed quotation for the works must be dated 1 January 2024 or later. State-dependent municipal subsidies took effect on that date.
- A municipal renovation subsidy can be awarded only once per dwelling or collective building.
- Applying commits you to allowing municipal representatives to carry out necessary on-site checks. The municipality may request further evidence about the subsidised works and services.
- Inaccurate or incomplete declarations lead to refusal and, if aid has already been awarded and paid, recovery of the undue payment. Aid obtained through false declarations, inaccurate information or an administrative error must also be repaid.

- Apply after the completed works and the qualifying national award, within six months of that award. Grants depend on the available municipal budget.
- The signed works quotation must be dated 1 January 2024 or later.
After the works and services are finished and the national award has been granted, complete and sign the municipal renovation form. Submit it within six months of the national aid agreement.
Attach your bank-account details (RIB), a property-tax invoice less than 12 months old, the works or materials invoice and proof of payment, and the official document confirming the national award from the environment ministry.
