Grant for landslide prevention along Göta älv

Statens geotekniska institutSuedia

Municipalities along Göta älv can receive up to the full cost of investigating, planning and carrying out landslide-prevention works.

Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.

Fund work that makes slopes and riverbanks more stable, such as erosion protection, removing soil from a slope or reinforcing the ground. The grant helps the Göta älv valley adapt to the increased landslide risk caused by climate change.

Support covers both the works and the investigations, design and permit processes needed to prepare them. Awards depend on available funds; SGI prioritises projects that offer lasting protection for people, property and the environment.

Eligibility

  • Your municipality must be along Göta älv. The programme works with Vänersborg, Trollhättan, Lilla Edet, Kungälv, Ale and Gothenburg. Municipalities may apply jointly. Property owners should contact their municipality.
  • The site must be in the river valley, including nearby tributaries where a landslide could affect the river’s flow. The terms use the area covered by the 2012 Göta älv investigation and require an existing landslide probability class of at least 3 on the five-class scale, established by that mapping or a later stability investigation.
  • Costs incurred before the award decision are not covered. General planning, mapping, detailed development-plan work and municipal lawyer time are excluded. VAT is eligible only when it cannot be deducted or refunded.
  • Complete the measures within three years of starting, unless SGI allows longer for special reasons. Combined public funding must not exceed eligible costs.
  • Before construction starts, obtain all required permits and exemptions and have the documents approved by the required geotechnical reviewer. A municipality may delegate design and implementation to a suitably competent property owner, but remains fully responsible to SGI.
  • When implementation is delegated to a property owner or operator, their own-personnel costs must be based on actual salary costs divided by total project hours, averaging no more than SEK 800 per hour; this is a ceiling, not a flat allowance. Their indirect costs are reimbursed at actual cost, up to 30% of eligible personnel costs. Calculations must be documented. Consultants are reimbursed at the invoiced hourly cost.
