Wall insulation rebate
A cash rebate for residential PWP electric customers upgrading the exterior wall insulation of an existing home.

The rebate pays USD 0.10 per square foot of qualifying insulation. Using a qualified local contractor or buying in Pasadena adds USD 0.05 per square foot. Customers enrolled in a PWP income-qualified bill payment assistance programme at the time they apply receive another USD 0.10 per square foot. With both bonuses, the rebate is USD 0.25 per square foot.
Only exterior walls between a conditioned living area (one that is heated or cooled) and an unconditioned area (one that is not heated or cooled) qualify. The new insulation must increase your home’s R-value, the rating of its resistance to heat flow, to R-13 or higher; you must provide proof of the final R-value and the product specification sheet with your claim.
Eligibility
- You must be a residential PWP electric customer. This is a rebate for an existing home; new construction does not qualify.
- Retrofit projects that require an insulation upgrade to meet California Title 24 requirements are excluded. An upgrade required to meet that building code cannot receive this rebate.
- The limit is one rebate per property every 15 years.
- Products must be new. Refurbished or reconditioned products do not qualify.

Complete the installation, then log in to your PWP account and select “Apply for Rebate”. Your completed application must reach PWP within 180 days of the purchase date.
Upload your detailed sales receipt or paid invoice showing the square footage installed, product and model number, final R-value, and purchase and installation dates. Also upload the product specification sheet. After approval, PWP says the rebate check arrives in 6 to 8 weeks.
Funds are limited. The rebate uses the incentive rates in effect when you submit the application, and PWP may change the terms. PWP may verify the purchase and installation before or after paying the rebate. For help with the application, contact PWP Rebate Programs on 626.744.7311.
