Heat-pump energy efficiency rebates
Cooperative members can claim rebates for qualifying air-source, mini-split, commercial and geothermal heat pumps installed on Freeborn Mower Electric Cooperative’s lines.
Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.
Air-source and mini-split heat pumps receive $300 per ton of cooling capacity. Commercial air-source heat pumps and packaged terminal heat pumps (PTHPs, self-contained units serving an individual room or zone) also receive $300 per ton. Geothermal heat pumps receive $500 per ton. The form calculates the rebate as cooling capacity × quantity × the applicable rate; for capacity below one ton, round to the nearest quarter-ton.
HVAC rebates are capped at $20,000 per consumer-member account per year and cannot exceed the equipment cost. Rebates greater than $100 are paid by check. The cooperative reviews the claim and records its approval decision and the rebate amount issued.
Eligibility
The form covers residential, farm, commercial, industrial, institution/government and other member uses. Equipment must be new and installed on the cooperative’s electricity lines.
- Air-source and mini-split heat pumps need both SEER2 of at least 14.3 and HSPF2 of at least 7.5, or both SEER of at least 15 and HSPF of at least 8.8. These are the equipment’s seasonal cooling and heating efficiency ratings; check the ratings on its AHRI certificate.
- Commercial air-source heat pumps and PTHPs need an EER (cooling energy efficiency ratio) of at least 11 for capacity below 20 tons; at least 10.5 for 20 to below 60 tons; or at least 10 for 60 tons or more.
- The form does not require a SEER or EER value for geothermal heat pumps, but an AHRI certificate is still required.
An air-source heat pump with a variable-speed blower can receive the heat-pump rebate, but cannot also receive the blower-motor rebate. Additional eligibility criteria may apply; contact Freeborn Mower Electric Cooperative for the applicable details.
