Energy-efficiency rebates
Members in central Iowa can receive $200 per cooling ton for qualifying air-source heat pumps, including mini-split and multi-split systems.
Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.
You can claim a rebate for a qualifying air-source heat pump purchased, or related services provided, from January 1, 2026 onward.
The rebate is $200 per cooling ton, a measure of cooling capacity. Take the capacity listed in the AHRI Certification Directory, which lists equipment ratings, in Btuh, divide it by 12,000, and round to the nearest half ton. Your installing contractor should have this information. If you generate some of your electricity yourself, your rebate is prorated to the percentage of your power supplied by the cooperative.
The cooperative does not warrant the equipment or guarantee energy or cost savings. Its liability is limited to paying the rebate when the terms are satisfied; it excludes consequential or incidental damages and tax liability from participation.
Eligibility
- You must be a member of Consumers Energy Cooperative of Iowa and have purchased and installed the equipment at the specified location served by the cooperative. The form includes residential, commercial and agricultural accounts.
- Eligible equipment includes air-source, mini-split and multi-split heat pumps. It must meet current federal minimum efficiency requirements, have at least 0.5 tons of capacity, and be rated in the AHRI Certification Directory, the equipment-rating directory named by the programme.
- For a split system, you must install both a new outdoor condenser and a new indoor A-coil, the indoor evaporator component.
- You must certify that your information is true and that you meet all programme requirements. The cooperative may verify the sale and inspect existing and installed equipment with reasonable access to your premises. A claim that does not comply may be denied or adjusted.

Apply within six months of the invoice purchase date. To retain a purchase year’s rebate pricing, the claim must also reach the cooperative by January 31 of the following year. After that date, the current year’s programme offer applies; previous equipment eligibility does not guarantee eligibility under the new terms.
