Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Coon Rapids Municipal UtilitiesIowase închide 31 ian. 2027

Residential CRMU customers can receive rebates for qualifying heat pumps installed at the homes they occupy in the utility’s service area.

Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.

For a two-stage air-source heat pump, the rebate is $300 plus $100 multiplied by the difference between its SEER rating and 15, up to $600. The form asks for SEER and HSPF efficiency ratings; HSPF rates how efficiently the heat pump heats, with a higher rating indicating more efficient operation. The equipment covered here must have SEER above 15 and HSPF above 8.5.

A ground-source heat pump with new ground loops can receive $600 per ton of capacity, up to $2,000. CRMU must approve it in advance. A closed-loop system must have EER above 16.2 and COP above 3.3; an open-loop system must have EER above 16.2 and COP above 3.6. A higher EER rating means more energy-efficient equipment, while COP compares heat delivered with the energy used. Use the system’s stated ratings when completing the form.

The combined annual residential rebate limit is $2,000 per dwelling. A rebate cannot exceed equipment costs after manufacturer or dealer rebates, and CRMU will not issue a rebate below $10. Payments depend on approval, receipts and CRMU verification. For the occupied-home route covered here, you pay for the equipment and the rebate is credited to that home’s utility account.

  • Equipment must be new, purchased and installed during 2026, and meet the heat-pump requirements above. Customers with their own electricity-generation resource (distributed generation) are excluded.
  • The device must remain in the CRMU service territory and cannot be relocated or sold for resale until retired from service. Installation must comply with applicable codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • CRMU may verify the installation and invoices before paying, and may meter the equipment at its own expense. You are responsible for any taxes resulting from the rebate. CRMU does not guarantee energy or cost savings.
