PMLP customers in owner-occupied homes can receive an electric bill credit for a qualifying air-source heat pump that provides heating and cooling.

Această oportunitate este disponibilă momentan în limba engleză.

The rebate covers air-source heat pumps, including ductless mini-splits, that provide both heating and cooling. It pays $500 for each ton (12,000 BTUs) of cooling capacity listed on the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) certificate. The allowance is limited to three tons (36,000 BTUs) per address per calendar year, giving a maximum $1,500 credit for this air-source route.

The credit is applied directly to your PMLP electric account. NextZero processes the claim; allow four to six weeks for processing. PMLP may modify or end rebates at any time.

Eligibility

  • You must be a PMLP electric customer, and the installation must be in an owner-occupied home.
  • This entry covers air-source equipment with SEER2 of at least 15.2, HSPF2 of at least 8.1, and COP of at least 1.75 at 5°F. SEER2 and HSPF2 are the published seasonal cooling and heating efficiency ratings; COP is the coefficient of performance rating. Use the contractor’s equipment details and AHRI certificate to check the ratings, without rounding them up. This covered range satisfies all the published efficiency requirements.
  • Buy and install the equipment between 1 January and 31 December 2026. A licensed contractor must install it; self-installation is not allowed. Cooling-only mini-splits and central air-conditioning systems are excluded.
  • Your signature certifies that you have received a Manual J sizing report from your contractor for your home’s heating and cooling needs and are satisfied that the heat pump will meet your heating and air-conditioning needs.

Answer the project questions about the heating system being replaced, any retained backup system, whole- or partial-home coverage, integrated controls and any weatherization work. The form describes whole-home systems as those able to heat and cool every finished room; partial-home systems cover part of the home. If integrated controls were installed to switch automatically between the heat pump and a fossil-fuel backup system, report the switch-over temperature.

Enclose all pages of a recent electric bill, the AHRI certificate obtained from your contractor, and the contractor’s invoice. The invoice must show the installation date and address, outdoor-unit model number(s), size in BTUs and total installation cost.
