Home energy, climate adaptation and health improvements loan
Homeowners can borrow for approved energy improvements, flood protection or healthier-home work, with the whole loan used for approved purposes.

Use this loan for work such as heat pumps, insulation and solar panels, or climate adaptation such as flood barriers. The approved list also includes healthier-home work such as asbestos removal and measures against radon. Materials, tradespeople and associated indirect costs can be covered.
You repay the loan with variable interest, over a maximum of 10 years. Changes in interest can affect your monthly payments or loan term. Loans up to DKK 250,000 require no security in your home and have no establishment commission or processing fee. Above DKK 250,000, the bank takes security for the part above that threshold; state registration fees apply.
Eligibility
- You must own your home or holiday home, have equity in it (its value must exceed what you owe on it), and pass the bank’s financial assessment. The general borrowing limit is up to 95% of the home’s value; holiday homes have different limits.
- All the loan must go to purposes approved by the bank. Other loans secured on the home must normally be with Danske Bank or Realkredit Danmark.
- Provide documentation that the whole loan will fund approved purposes, such as a tradesperson’s quotation or a building-supply store’s quotation for do-it-yourself work. A homemade budget is insufficient. The bank can request evidence afterwards, and you must tell it if the funds are not used as agreed.
- Your home does not need an energy label. This loan cannot be linked to the bank’s preferential-interest deposit account.
- If you live, move to or stay outside the EU or EEA, the bank may be unable to offer the same products and services.
