Beskrivningen av den här finansieringen finns för närvarande på engelska.

This entry covers adaptation work under the city’s Klima-Förderrichtlinie. Adaptation applications remain open while budget is available; the city has suspended applications for exhausted solar, storage and heating-rod support.

Green roofs receive €50/m² and new facade greening €40/m², each up to €5,000. Their eligible costs include planning, installation and materials; roof planting costs are also eligible. Facades may be on buildings, outbuildings, walls or fences.

Removing fully sealed paving receives €35/m² for partial removal, such as replacing it with grass pavers, or €50/m² for full removal that restores soil function and includes subsequent greening. Each route is capped at €5,000; planning, disposal, installation and materials are eligible.

Fixed rainwater cisterns with non-drinking-water use and newly installed greywater reuse systems receive 50% of investment costs, up to €5,000 each. Greywater means used water reused through the system. New rainwater infiltration systems, such as soakaway trenches or shallow infiltration basins, receive €30/m² of the area whose runoff feeds the system, up to €5,000. Planning, installation and materials are eligible.

Total support is limited to €8,000 per property and €2,000 per apartment, and cannot exceed the measure’s costs. Amounts are gross, including VAT. Each measure can be requested once per household per year. Funding is discretionary and depends on available funds.

Eligibility

  • Work must take place within Dreieich. Property and dwelling owners and holders of hereditary building rights may apply with ownership evidence. A condominium community’s management may apply with its resolution to participate.
  • Private tenants must show residence in Dreieich through their rental contract or equivalent evidence. Associations, businesses and religious communities must show their local registered premises or community centre. Applicants who rent also need the owner’s written consent.
  • Only voluntary work is supported. Legally required measures and double funding are excluded. Work must be technically and ecologically sensible, meet recognised technical standards and be professionally installed. Buildings must have been legally erected; applicants must obtain any required planning, heritage or other permissions separately.
  • Green roofs need at least 8 cm of substrate plus filtration, water-storage and drainage layers. Include at least two biodiversity features: insect-friendly or drought-resistant planting, variable substrate depths, dead wood, sand/clay/coarse-gravel areas, temporary water areas or insect nesting aids. New facade greening may be rooted in the ground or on the wall; insect-friendly plants are recommended.
  • The area to be depaved must be at least 5 m². Cisterns must hold more than 4,000 litres, include non-drinking-water use and meet current technical standards. Greywater systems must meet current technical standards, use no added chemicals, and be planned and installed by a qualified specialist company.
  • For rented dwellings, landlords must declare in writing that the work’s total costs will not be financed through rent increases. Breaking this rule generally requires grant repayment. Grant obligations must pass to legal successors, and the city must be informed.
  • Report promptly any facts affecting the award or possible recovery. False statements, culpable breaches, removing the funded measure or damage caused by inadequate maintenance may lead to full or partial revocation and recovery with interest five percentage points above the statutory German base rate from the due date. Deliberate abuse brings a five-year exclusion.

Villkor för ansökningsomgången
  • Only the adaptation measures described here are retained; awards depend on available funds.

Open the city’s application service and select “Antrag auf Förderung von Klima-Maßnahmen”. Submit the digital form with the required uploads, including the applicable ownership, residence, community resolution and owner-consent evidence. The city processes complete applications in receipt order. Include planned measures for the property together; a further application for that property must wait until the preceding procedure is completed.

Wait for the award notice before ordering, purchasing or starting work. Planning commissions are exempt. An exceptional early start requires a reasoned application to the city before starting.

Complete the work within 12 months of the award notice; exceptional extensions need written city consent before the deadline. Within three months of completion, send the expenditure evidence digitally to klimaschutz@dreieich.de, unless instructed otherwise. Include an invoice showing the order date and two clear, well-lit photographs from different angles showing the improvement. The city receives publication rights to the photos and may inspect the work on site.

The rules also make payment conditional on completion within 12 months of the award and complete, timely expenditure evidence; exceptional departures require a reasoned request before the deadline. Payment follows completion and verification, with no interim instalments.
