Solar loan

Seylan BankSri Lanka

Borrow for a solar system from a bank-approved supplier if you are a permanent employee in Sri Lanka earning at least Rs.200,000 net per month.

Beskrivningen av den här finansieringen finns för närvarande på engelska.

The bank can consider a loan of up to 100% of the solar system’s invoice or quotation value. The supplier or merchant must be acceptable to Seylan Bank.

You must repay the loan. Seylan takes a mortgage over the solar equipment as security and requires your salary to be paid into a Seylan account throughout the loan. Net payments from the solar supply must also pass through that account.

A Loan Protection Insurance premium applies. Paying off all or part of the loan early attracts an early-settlement fee.

Eligibility

  • You must be a Sri Lankan resident employed by a local company or a locally based branch of a foreign company. You must be aged 20–60 and settle the loan by retirement age.
  • You must be a permanent, confirmed employee with at least 12 months of service, including probation, and a minimum monthly net salary of Rs.200,000.
  • Your Credit Information Bureau (CRIB) record must be 100% clear. Your employer must be on the bank’s approved list, or you must be a professional registered with a professional body approved by the bank.
  • The electricity bill or connection must be in your name. The bank requires a copy of your agreement with CEB/LECO, the electricity connection provider, alongside its security documents.
  • Assigning your salary to the bank is compulsory, and your monthly salary must go into your Seylan account for the whole loan term.
