Klimaatkas grant
Grants for residents’ collective projects in Soest and Soesterberg that save energy, generate renewable energy or raise awareness, with the route below €5,000 explained here.
Beskrivningen av den här finansieringen finns för närvarande på engelska.
Klimaatkas can help cover the costs of preparing and carrying out a collective energy project for your street, neighbourhood, school or the wider municipality. This entry covers requests for less than €5,000.
The grant covers preparation and execution costs, but does not pay for goods or materials such as solar panels, insulation materials or plants. The municipality assesses whether your estimated costs are reasonable. For an approved request below €5,000, you receive half the grant immediately and the rest after submitting your project report.
The scheme has a total budget of €1 million, available until 31 December 2030 or until the money runs out.
Eligibility
- Your project must be led by residents and contribute to a pleasant, sustainable living environment in or for Soest and Soesterberg. It must benefit a collective, such as a street, neighbourhood, school or the whole municipality.
- Your project must contribute to Soest’s energy-transition goals through energy saving, renewable energy generation or awareness. Those goals include using less energy, a balanced local electricity system and enabling everyone to participate.
- Your project must not make a profit. You may recover your costs, but you must not earn money from the project.
- Set a clear project end date. Submit a project report within two months after that date, and keep your administration and invoices for two years.

For requests below €5,000, the municipality checks the conditions and whether the estimated costs are reasonable. You hear whether the application is approved within four weeks. Send your final report through Mijn Soest within two months of the end date you gave for the project; the remaining half of the grant is paid after you send it.
