Electric-drive energy analysis grant

Swiss Federal Office of EnergySchweizupp till 15 tn CHF

Grants help industrial and service businesses measure electricity-saving potential in electric drive systems and plan practical efficiency improvements.

Beskrivningen av den här finansieringen finns för närvarande på engelska.

A qualified advisor measures your electric drive systems in operation and assesses practical improvements, including their technical feasibility and financial return. The analysis considers the process’s demand as well as the motor’s electricity use.

From 1 April 2026 to 30 April 2027, support covers 50% of detailed-analysis costs, with the published limit of CHF 15,000 per company. The normal contribution is up to 40%. Support for help with implementing the recommendations remains up to 40% of those costs, capped at CHF 1,000 per company. Both contributions exclude VAT. You are not required to implement the recommended measures.

Eligible costs must actually be incurred and necessary for the project; directly related third-party services can count. You must disclose all financing sources. Federal subsidy assessment also considers whether the activity would be insufficiently carried out without support, whether alternative financing is inadequate and whether more suitable measures exist.

Eligibility

  • The analysis project must be in Switzerland.
  • Industrial and service companies normally need annual electricity consumption of at least 0.5 GWh (500,000 kWh). Companies using less can also participate if they have several drive systems in industrial processes or premises and demonstrate their savings potential through an analysis.
  • The analysed electric drive systems must have a nominal power of at least 10 kW. Carry out an internal preliminary analysis to identify the components with the greatest expected savings.
  • Technical improvements must be possible and capable of delivering actual energy savings. A technically and organisationally qualified advisor must carry out the detailed analysis; specialists may help with measurements.

How to apply

Status
Öppet löpande
Villkor för ansökningsomgången
  • Your qualified energy advisor submits the application to EnergieSchweiz. The higher 50% analysis contribution applies from 1 April 2026 to 30 April 2027; this period is not an application deadline.[^c5][^c6][^c8][^c19]

Carry out the internal preliminary analysis, then contact your energy advisor. If you need a route into the programme, contact EnergieSchweiz at entreprises@bfe.admin.ch. Your advisor submits the application through EnergieSchweiz’s project-application route. After approval, the advisor, your company and EnergieSchweiz agree payment arrangements in a contract.

The application must describe objectives and expected impact, the work, timetable and milestones, costs and financing, and project partners and contacts.

The advisor must discuss process requirements with operating staff, calculate current and proposed annual electricity use, and assess how long savings take to cover each measure’s cost. The report separates measures paying back within four years from those that do not, and points to possible ProKilowatt support for measures just outside that threshold. It must document the work and summarise results and recommendations.

Submit the required reporting at agreed milestones and, at the latest, with the project’s final accounts.
