Smart energy system grant
Up to €1,000 for owner-occupiers on Ameland to connect and configure existing home energy installations so they work together.

The grant covers technical integration, connection and configuration of your existing energy installations. It does not cover buying solar panels, a home battery, an EV charger or other equipment.
An energy management system automatically coordinates your installations: for example, running a heat pump when your solar panels generate electricity or charging your car when you have enough solar power or electricity prices are low.
Gemeente Ameland reimburses up to €1,000 after the work and submission of payment evidence. The total €40,000 budget is allocated in order of application until it runs out.
Eligibility
- You must own and live in a home on Ameland.
- You must already have at least one of these installations: a heat pump (including a hybrid heat pump), solar panels, a home battery or an EV charger.
- The installer must carry out the work after the municipality approves your application.
- The page requires work within six months, but both execution and grant payment must be completed before 30 November 2026. A late application therefore does not give you a full six months; allow time for approval, installation and payment before that cutoff.

Ask your installer to visit your home and provide a quotation. Apply through Gemeente Ameland’s online subsidy form with the quotation attached. The requested budget is reserved, and the installer carries out the work after approval.
After completion, reply to your award email with the installer’s invoice, a bank-statement copy showing your payment to the installer, and a photo of the work. The municipality states that reimbursement follows within four weeks, subject to the absolute completion and payment cutoff before 30 November 2026.
