Local home insulation grant
Up to €2,184 for owner-occupiers in Weststellingwerf to have a poorly insulated home professionally insulated.
Denne finansieringsmulighed er i øjeblikket beskrevet på engelsk.
Use the managed option for one floor or crawl-space bottom insulation measure arranged by Duurzaam Bouwloket through a professional contractor. The municipality covers up to 100% of directly attributable eligible costs, capped at €2,184 per application. Duurzaam Bouwloket deducts the approved grant from the contractor’s invoice and pays it to the contractor; you pay any remaining bill. You choose the measure and approve the quotation.
Application preparation, technical housing advice and ecological investigation costs are excluded. Costs already supported by another subsidy and taxes or charges you can recover or offset are also excluded. The final award is calculated from the actual eligible costs evidenced after the work.
Eligibility
- You must own and occupy the home as your principal residence and be registered there in Weststellingwerf. The home must have been occupied before renovation and be registered for residential use in the Dutch buildings and addresses register (BAG). For this managed route, the home must have its own front door and no dwelling or structure above or below it; apartments are excluded.
- The home’s WOZ assessed value must be no more than €429,300 at the valuation date 1 January 2022.
- It must have energy label D, E, F or G, a comparable energy condition, or at least two poorly insulated building elements. For the last test, the municipal annex identifies: a roof with less than 9 cm insulation or Rc ≤2.0; an uninsulated attic floor with Rc ≤0.5, used instead of roof insulation only in an unheated attic with a closed hatch or door; a wall without cavity, internal or external insulation, Rc ≤1.1; a floor/bottom with no or poor insulation, less than 5 cm or Rc ≤1.3; or single, old double or HR glazing with Ug ≥1.6. Rc measures the existing construction’s resistance to heat loss; Ug measures heat passing through glazing.
- Floor or bottom insulation must cover 20–130 m² and the new insulation alone must achieve Rd ≥3.5 m²K/W, a measure of its resistance to heat loss. Existing insulation cannot count toward that minimum. Materials must be on a national approved notification-code list, and the work must satisfy the municipal rules and applicable ISDE homeowner insulation criteria.
- Only the existing thermal envelope—the parts separating heated rooms from outside or unheated spaces—is supported. Extensions, new construction and work completed before 1 June 2024 are excluded. The award is available once per home; work must be lawful and financially and practically feasible. You are responsible for nature-friendly insulation and must check the municipality’s approach before starting.

- Applications remain subject to the professional-work budget.
Start through the municipal application page operated by Duurzaam Bouwloket. Enter your address and applicant details, then choose the option where the administrator arranges one measure with an insulation company. The company visits, checks feasibility and gives you a quotation. If you decline the quotation, you have no commitment. If you accept, it installs the insulation and the grant is deducted from the bill.
Applications are accepted through 31 August 2027, subject to the €3,351,552 professional-work budget. Complete applications are ranked by receipt; applications received at the same time are ranked by lottery if the budget would be exceeded.
Complete the work within 12 months after the award and by 31 December 2027. You can request one extension if you demonstrate that 12 months is insufficient, but never beyond that final date. Within eight weeks after completing the work, request final determination of the grant with the invoices. Keep original invoices and other evidence for at least five years after determination and cooperate with checks, including site visits, for up to six months after final determination. For eligible work already completed, the rules allow direct determination from evidence supplied with the application, without a prior award.
