Nordea checks the investment against its environmental requirements. The reports you need to provide depend on your project, and the bank quotes an interest rate for your loan individually.
Eligibility
The investment must fit one of Nordea's project categories. Examples include solar and wind power, insulation, heating systems and electric vehicle charging points.
For commercial buildings and apartment blocks, Nordea lists these alternatives:
- Environmentally certified buildings with energy class A or B.
- LEED, at least Gold.
- BREEAM, at least Excellent.
- Miljöbyggnad, at least Silver.
- Svanen.
Start with the Project categories table on the product page. The bank then checks your investment against its detailed environmental requirements in the Nordea Green Funding Framework. You may need to report energy use or provide other evidence of environmental benefits.
The bank also carries out a credit assessment to check whether your business can repay the loan.
