Ceiling insulation rebate
A rebate for Tampa Electric residential customers adding attic insulation after a required inspection.

Add ceiling insulation to reduce energy escaping through your attic. The rebate is $0.16 per square foot for each R-11 of insulation installed; R-value measures insulation’s resistance to heat flow. A participating contractor deducts the rebate from your invoice, and owner-installed insulation is also eligible.
Eligibility
You must be a Tampa Electric residential customer in its Florida service territory, covering Hillsborough and parts of Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties.
- Have Tampa Electric inspect your attic before installing insulation. The analyst must recommend insulation and issue a rebate certificate, which is valid for one year.
- Install the insulation yourself or use a licensed contractor participating in the programme.
- Tampa Electric may arrange a follow-up inspection after the work is complete.

- Arrange the required attic inspection before installing insulation. The rebate certificate is valid for one year.[^c1][^c2]

Call Tampa Electric at 813-275-3909 before installation to arrange the required attic assessment. The contact line is available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If insulation is recommended, the analyst supplies the certificate and a list of approved contractors.
If you install it yourself, use the Ceiling Insulation rebate application linked on the official instructions page. Have your Tampa Electric account number, certificate and paid receipt or invoice ready. Submit within 90 days after installation is complete. Save the enrollment/confirmation number to access the application and upload files later.
