Housing energy grants
Adults with a qualifying national grant can receive a municipal supplement for insulation, renewable energy installations and energy advice for a home in Bertrange.
The municipality pays a grant equal to 25% of the national grant for eligible housing investments. Different eligible investments can receive support, but the combined state and municipal grants cannot exceed eligible spending. The former €1,800 municipal ceiling was abolished from 1 January 2026.
Covered measures include wall, roof and floor insulation, replacement windows and French doors, and ventilation with heat recovery. Renewable energy measures include solar thermal and photovoltaic installations, wood boilers and particle filters, the listed heat-pump systems, heating-network installation and connection, batteries and energy management systems. Energy advice for renovating an existing home is also covered, subject to the qualifying national award.
Eligibility
- You must be an adult individual when you apply, and the investment must concern a home in Bertrange. A home can be a single-family, two-family or apartment building, or an apartment used as housing.
- You must already have received approval for a national grant under the Grand-Ducal Regulation of 7 April 2022. The municipal supplement uses the same restrictions and conditions as that national scheme. This entry covers holders of those awards, including qualifying legacy awards; it does not cover awards solely under the new 2026 national scheme.
- Secondhand equipment and work or investments without a national grant are excluded. Only the investment categories listed in the municipal regulation qualify.
- This entry covers claims without a concurrent municipal facade-renovation grant. Combining that separate grant with facade-insulation support is subject to a specific ceiling.
- If you receive a grant wrongly, you must repay it immediately when the municipality requests it, including where false declarations or inaccurate information led to the award.

- Apply within one year after the national grant decision. A qualifying state award under RGD 7 April 2022 is required.[^c4][^c5]
Use the municipal energy-grant application form and submit your claim to the Commune de Bertrange communal secretariat within one year after the national grant decision. Attach a copy of the national grant award and your bank identity document (RIB). The municipality may also request a complete copy of the national application file.
