Home insulation subsidy

Municipality of BeeselPaíses Bajoshasta 2,3 mil EUR

Owner-occupiers in Beesel can receive up to €2,250 towards materials for insulating their roof from inside or an unheated attic floor themselves.

Esta oportunidad está disponible actualmente en inglés.

This entry covers the municipal DIY option: you carry out the insulation yourself and the municipality reimburses eligible material costs after approval. The supported work is insulation inside the roof or of the attic or loft floor within your home’s existing insulated outer shell. Dormer insulation can qualify; a new extension cannot. If you combine the work with an extension or alteration, separate costs for the existing and new parts in quotations and invoices.

The grant covers insulation, necessary fastening materials and insulating finishes such as insulating tape. It is limited to your actual eligible expenditure, with a maximum of €30 per square metre for non-biobased materials, such as glass wool or PIR foam, or €45 per square metre for biobased materials, such as flax or hemp. Both material categories have an overall limit of €2,250 per home including VAT.

Eligibility

  • You must privately own a dwelling registered in the municipality of Beesel and use it as your main residence, or move in immediately after renovation.
  • The house must be accessible directly from street level with a floor at ground level. Apartments, outbuildings and homes within an owners’ association (VvE) do not qualify.
  • The home must have energy label D, E, F or G, or at least two poorly insulated components from these four groups: floor/ground; walls, including cavity walls; roof and/or attic floor; and windows or panels in frames and doors.
  • Its official WOZ property value at 1 January 2022 must be strictly below €429,300.
  • For insulation inside the roof, the roof boarding must have no gaps or holes measuring 3 cm or more. For attic or loft floor insulation, the space above must be unheated and have no heating provisions, even if you rarely use them.
  • The new material must achieve thermal resistance (Rd), which measures how well it resists heat loss, of at least 3.5 m²K/W. The minimum is 2.5 m²K/W for historic homes with monument status. Existing insulation does not count towards this minimum.
  • You may apply once per dwelling. Earlier municipal subsidy for the same initiative or similar activities from SpUk LAI local insulation funds excludes another award.
  • The home must not be for sale when you apply and must remain off the market until after the insulation is carried out. A breach triggers recovery of the subsidy within six months.
