Residential air-source heat-pump rebates
Rebates help Guthrie County REC residential members install qualifying standard air-source heat pumps, including mini-split and multi-split systems.
Esta oportunidad está disponible actualmente en inglés.
This entry covers the standard residential air-source heat-pump rebate. The cooperative pays $200 per cooling ton, with capacity rounded to the nearest half-ton. Divide the cooling capacity in the AHRI directory, expressed in British thermal units per hour (Btuh), by 12,000 to find the number of cooling tons. Your installing contractor can provide this information.
If you have your own electricity generation, the rebate is reduced to reflect the percentage of power supplied by the cooperative. The cooperative does not provide equipment warranties or guarantee energy or cost savings. Its liability is limited to the specified rebate once all conditions are met; it excludes consequential or incidental damages and tax liability.
Eligibility
- You must purchase and install the equipment at a location served by Guthrie County REC and certify that your application is true and meets the programme rules.
- Standard air-source, mini-split and multi-split heat pumps must meet the current federal minimum efficiency requirements, have at least 0.5 cooling tons of capacity and be rated in the AHRI Certification Directory, which lists certified heating and cooling equipment ratings.
- For a split system, install both a new outdoor condenser and a new indoor A-coil (evaporator), the indoor component that transfers heat.
- Purchases or services must date from January 1, 2025 onward. Check with the cooperative that the programme remains in effect: it may change rebate levels or terminate the programme without notice.
- Allow reasonable access for equipment inspections and sales verification. A rebate may be denied or adjusted if the equipment or application fails the rules.
