Residential appliance electrification rebates
Rebates help residential electricity members pay for heat-pump water heaters, heat-pump clothes dryers and induction cooking appliances in Holy Cross Energy’s service territory.
Esta oportunidad está disponible actualmente en inglés.
This entry covers appliance upgrades in existing homes. Holy Cross Energy pays $1,000 per heat-pump water-heater project, $500 per heat-pump clothes dryer and $500 per induction cooktop or range. Water heating must be electric only, with no natural gas or propane.
Households with income under 150% of their county’s area median income can receive double these amounts: $2,000 for water heating and $1,000 for each dryer or induction appliance. Find the 150% income limit for your county and household size in the linked residential rebate overview. All income earners must provide income proof, verified by an Energy Smart Colorado partner or the Colorado Energy Office HEAR programme.
Standard residential rebates are limited to $5,000 per account per year and $10,000 per member per year. Income-qualified residential rebates have a $10,000 annual member limit. The payment cannot exceed the eligible material and contractor-labour cost; tax, travel, mileage, delivery, disposal and permits are excluded. Holy Cross Energy may adjust the rebate if prices are not fair and reasonable for comparable work.
Eligibility
- You must hold an active Holy Cross Energy electric account in good standing, with no more than two delinquent payments in 12 months. Install the eligible equipment in a home within its service territory; it must be working before you apply.
- These residential rates do not cover properties on a commercial electricity rate, buildings with four or more individual units, or employee housing built by a nonprofit organization with 501(c)(3) status. Holy Cross Energy treats these properties as commercial for rebates.
- Residential members must enroll in Peak Time Payback, the free programme that sends alerts when electricity demand is high and rewards reduced use. Alternatively, members with battery storage may enroll in Power+ or Power+FLEX. Peak Time Payback requires email or text notifications in SmartHub; there is no penalty if you cannot reduce use during an alert.
- Equipment must meet the application’s technical requirements. Holy Cross Energy may inspect the installation, withhold payment for nonqualifying products, and refuse participation or payment if you or your contractor violate programme rules.
A rebate normally pays part of your upgrade cost. If you misrepresent your application or breach programme terms, Holy Cross Energy can require you to repay the whole rebate after notice. If you do not repay within ten days of notice, collection costs, including legal fees, are added. Unpaid amounts carry 18% annual interest from the due date, compounded annually. Holy Cross Energy may offset money it owes you or add the debt to your electricity bill; failure to pay can lead to electricity disconnection.
