Energy-efficiency rebates
Homeowner members can receive up to $750 per heat pump water heater, covering at most half the cost.

This entry covers the heat pump water heater option within Intercounty Electric Cooperative’s energy-efficiency rebate programme. You can install one in a new or existing home, including replacing a gas water heater.
For units purchased after 30 June 2025, the rebate is up to $750 per unit and no more than 50% of the total cost. There is no size requirement. Both limits apply: a $1,000 unit can receive at most $500. The programme limits rebates to two units per member address and two per meter.
Eligibility
- You must be a cooperative member in good standing. The home where you live must be a permanent structure on a permanent foundation, on land you own.
- The installation must be in a permanent facility served directly by Intercounty Electric. The service must buy more than 6,000 kWh of electricity from the cooperative each year.
- Buy an ENERGY STAR rated heat pump water heater; check that the appliance carries that rating. When replacing an existing unit, its efficiency rating must be below 0.9. Replacing a gas water heater is eligible, but the new appliance cannot be a gas or tankless water heater.
- Previously owned, mislabeled or misrepresented equipment is excluded. The cooperative may inspect the equipment and installation.
- By participating, you agree to allow the cooperative to control your heating and cooling equipment now or in the future through its load-control programmes.

Complete and sign the heat pump water heater application, attach a copy of the purchase receipt, and send it to Intercounty Electric Cooperative, P.O. Box 209, Licking, MO 65542. Your signature certifies that the installed equipment meets the requirements and allows installation verification.
Submit within 60 days after installation and within 90 days of purchase to meet both published requirements. The overview gives the installation deadline; the application form gives the purchase deadline. The signed application is required before rebate payment.
