Energy $ense heating and cooling rebates

Jump River Electric CooperativeWisconsincierra 31 dic 2026

Rebates help active electric cooperative members install qualifying heat pumps, electric heating equipment, programmable thermostats and efficient furnace blower motors.

Esta oportunidad está disponible actualmente en inglés.

The heating and cooling route covers new equipment installed on Jump River Electric Cooperative’s system. Heat-pump rebates are $300 per ton for qualifying air-source and mini-split units, including commercial air-source and packaged terminal heat pumps, and $500 per ton for geothermal units. A ton measures heating or cooling capacity: the form uses 12,000 BTU per hour per ton, with units below one ton rounded up to the nearest quarter ton and units above one ton to the nearest half ton.

Electric boilers and electric thermal storage heaters receive $25 per kW, up to $350. A plenum heater receives $10 per kW, up to $250. Programmable thermostats receive 50% of their cost, up to $50. A new furnace with a qualifying efficient electronically commutated motor (ECM) blower receives $35 per unit.

The rebate cannot exceed the equipment’s purchase cost. Rebates below $500 are credited to your energy bill; amounts above $500 are paid by check. The detailed rules allow a different payment method to be requested for bill credits.

Eligibility

  • You must be an active electric JREC member. The form accepts residential, farm, commercial, industrial and institution/government applications. Equipment must be new and installed on the cooperative’s lines; purchases and/or installations must take place in 2026.
  • Air-source and mini-split heat pumps must meet both SEER2 14.3 or higher and HSPF2 7.5 or higher, or both SEER 15 or higher and HSPF 8.8 or higher. These are seasonal cooling and heating efficiency ratings: supply the qualifying equipment ratings and its AHRI certified reference number with your application.
  • Commercial air-source and packaged terminal heat pumps must have an EER cooling-efficiency rating of at least 11 below 20 tons, at least 10.5 from 20 to below 60 tons, or at least 10 from 60 tons upwards. The application uses capacity and efficiency ratings to check the appropriate band.
  • The new furnace must be your primary heat source. Its AHRI certificate must show a variable-speed ECM blower or annual blower electricity use (Eae) of no more than 670 kWh. The certificate is the evidence of this qualification.
  • Electric boilers, electric thermal storage units and plenum heaters must be enrolled in JREC’s load-management programme through the cooperative. This can involve short interruptions to electric heating.
  • You cannot receive incentives for both a measure and one of its components: a heat-pump rebate cannot also include a rebate for that heat pump’s blower motor.

Funds are limited and the programme may change or end without notice. The form warns that additional eligibility criteria may apply.

  • After December 31, applications are considered only for a 2027 incentive if offered.

Complete and sign the 2026 HVAC incentive form. Attach receipts or invoices with equipment prices circled and evidence that the equipment has been installed, including the installation date. Provide the manufacturer or brand, and the certified reference and efficiency information requested by the form. Heat-pump invoices must include the AHRI certificate reference, SEER or EER rating and tonnage; electric heater invoices need the model number and kW per unit, and thermostat invoices need the model number.

Mail the form and documents to Jump River Electric Cooperative, Attn: Rebates, PO Box 99, Ladysmith, WI 54848. Submit within three months of installation and by December 31, 2026 for the 2026 incentive, while funds remain.
