Home insulation subsidy
A grant for owner-occupiers in Oirschot to have a poorly insulated home improved by a contractor.
Esta oportunidad está disponible actualmente en inglés.
Choose your own contractor to insulate the existing roof, attic floor, floor or crawl-space ground, external walls or cavity walls, or replace glazing. The municipality reimburses actual costs: up to €1,500 for one measure or €2,250 for two or more.
Three conditional additions are available: up to €500 for qualifying biobased insulation on RVO's product-code list, up to €250 when specialist preparation is needed to protect animals before insulating, and up to €1,000 if household income is no more than 120% of the statutory social minimum. Biobased material must contain at least 70% natural material under EN16575:2014. Together, these additions can raise the two-or-more-measure ceiling to €4,000. The total grant never exceeds your actual costs. You may combine it with national assistance such as ISDE, the national home-energy subsidy.
Eligibility
- You must be an adult living in Oirschot who owns and occupies the home. It must be a house with its own entrance at ground level (a grondgebonden woning) in the municipality, with a WOZ property-tax value below €551,000 at 1 January 2022. Rental homes do not qualify.
- The home must have energy label D, E, F or G. Alternatively, a home built by 1990 can qualify through at least two poorly insulated groups: floor/ground, external wall/cavity wall, roof/attic floor, or glazing. The annex describes no, poor or moderate roof insulation, no attic-floor or wall insulation, no or poor floor/ground insulation, or single, old double or HR glass. It gives thickness or thermal values as indicators: roof insulation under 9 cm or Rc ≤2.0; attic-floor Rc ≤0.5; wall Rc ≤1.1; floor/ground insulation under 5 cm or Rc ≤1.3; and glazing Ug ≥1.6. Rc measures the existing component's resistance to heat loss; Ug measures heat passing through glazing.
- A company registered in the construction section, or a comparable section, of an EU or EEA trade register must do the work. Measures completed before 1 January 2025, DIY work, new extensions and work solely on sheds, garages or garden buildings are excluded. Work must be in the existing heated enclosure and replace an outdated measure, rather than add a new element. The same activity cannot receive this municipal grant twice.
- Obtain any required public or private consents and ensure the work is technically feasible. Use the nature-friendly insulation method, NVI, to protect animals such as bats and birds; any necessary animal-protection preparation must be undertaken by a specialist. UF foam is no longer subsidised from 1 April 2026.
The municipal scheme uses ISDE's minimum areas and insulation values. Rd describes the new material's resistance to heat loss: existing insulation cannot be added to reach it. U describes heat passing through glazing; lower values mean less heat loss. The municipality may make a justified exception where the surface is too small to meet the minimum area.
- Cavity walls: at least 10 m² and new material Rd ≥1.1. External walls: at least 10 m² and Rd ≥3.5; internal walls and partitions are excluded.
- Floor/ground: at least 20 m² combined. Floor insulation must lie above or below the existing floor and have Rd ≥3.5; ground insulation goes on the crawl-space ground and needs Rd or Rbf ≥3.5. Sprayed PIR/PUR must use HFC-free blowing agents. Superimposed floor and ground insulation count only once; qualifying work in separate spaces must be claimed together.
- Roof/attic floor: at least 20 m² combined and Rd ≥3.5. Roof work must be on the existing roof. An insulated attic floor must serve an unheated attic with no heating equipment, even unused equipment. Roof and attic-floor insulation directly above each other count only once; qualifying work in separate spaces must be claimed together.
- Replacement HR++ glazing: at least 3 m² and U ≤1.2. Triple glazing requires U ≤0.7; its ISDE category also requires replacement insulating frames. Triple glass without replacement frames falls in ISDE's HR++ category. These national categories do not change the municipality's one-/multiple-measure grant ceilings.

- For current homeowner-chosen contractor insulation in Oirschot. Eligible residents without a letter can email duurzaamheid@oirschot.nl to enter; formal applications use the designated platform. Complete applications are considered first received; ties may be decided by lottery.
- Applications are available only while the municipal budget remains.
If you have not received an invitation, email duurzaamheid@oirschot.nl with your name, address, postcode/locality, energy label and proof of the home's 2022 WOZ value. The municipality expressly offers this entry route to eligible residents without a letter. Submit the formal application through the designated platform.
Include a cost budget and financing plan showing other subsidies or payments requested for the same work and their status. After the work, provide the invoice, proof of payment and photographs. The invoice must show the area and achieved Rd value for each measure, plus the product codes. The municipality determines the grant after approving this evidence, and you must cooperate with on-site spot checks.
Tell the municipality promptly if subsidised work or grant obligations will not be completed. Report in writing any termination of the work, relevant changes in financial or organisational relations with third parties, or developments that threaten compliance.
Complete applications are considered in order of receipt until the budget is exhausted, with a lottery for applications received on the same date if that day's demand exceeds the remaining budget. Applications must arrive by 31 December 2027.
