Private-land unsealing grant
Homeowners in Ochtrup can receive up to €200 towards container delivery and disposal when they remove hard surfaces and permanently plant the area.

Replace paving, asphalt, gravel or chippings with a permanently unsealed and planted area. This lets rain soak into the ground and helps reduce flooding and summer heat.
The city reimburses container costs using fixed allowances: up to €89 plus VAT for delivery, and €10 per tonne for disposal of up to eight tonnes. The total grant is capped at €200 per household, regardless of the contractor’s actual prices. Soil, weed-control fleece and other waste are excluded; any extra costs for these materials are yours to pay, even if they go in the same container.
Eligibility
- This entry covers adult private owners of non-commercial residential properties in Ochtrup. The property must belong to you.
- Unseal at least 10 m². Owners in the same neighbourhood may combine smaller areas to reach 10 m² and submit one joint application through an eligible participant. Keep the area permanently unsealed and plant it as part of the work.
- Each residential property can receive support only once, with only one application per property. Work that has already started is excluded. Apply before ordering the container and wait for written approval before commissioning the disposal company.
- Funding depends on the remaining municipal budget and is not a legal entitlement. City staff may inspect the work on site by prior arrangement.

After written approval, commission a disposal company of your choice. Complete the work and submit a photograph taken during the work, an after photograph showing the unsealed and planted area, and the company’s invoice within three months of receiving approval. You can request an extension in writing with reasons. Payment follows the city’s full check of the documents and confirmation that you carried out the work as applied for; incomplete evidence prevents payment.
