Clearwater Credit Union lends up to USD 100,000 for a qualifying vehicle, with up to an additional USD 2,500 for home charging installation. You repay the borrowed money through loan payments, with interest; terms range from 36 to 84 months.
The advertised annual percentage rate (APR) is one percentage point below Clearwater’s standard vehicle loan. Rates effective October 1, 2026 are 5.24%–16.75% APR for 36, 48, 60 or 72 months, and 5.99%–10.25% for 84 months. Your rate and terms depend on approval, creditworthiness, qualifications and the vehicle offered as security; rates and conditions can change.
A 72-month loan requires borrowing at least USD 15,000. An 84-month loan requires at least USD 30,000. Clearwater’s example for borrowing USD 25,000 over 36 months gives monthly repayments of USD 753–889.
Eligibility
- The loan is for plug-in electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids. Clearwater classifies a vehicle as new when it is three years or newer relative to the current year, and used when it is four years or older.
- To join Clearwater, you must live, work, worship, attend school, volunteer or participate in a membership-based organization in one of the following Montana counties: Beaverhead, Big Horn, Broadwater, Carbon, Cascade, Chouteau, Deer Lodge, Fergus, Flathead, Gallatin, Glacier, Golden Valley, Granite, Jefferson, Judith Basin, Lake, Lewis & Clark, Lincoln, Madison, Meagher, Mineral, Missoula, Musselshell, Park, Pondera, Powell, Ravalli, Rosebud, Sanders, Silver Bow, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Teton, Toole, Treasure, Wheatland, and Yellowstone.
- All loans require Clearwater’s approval. Creditworthiness, qualifications and the condition of the vehicle used as security affect the terms.
- Clearwater places a lien on the vehicle, meaning it remains security for the loan until you repay it in full. You must maintain comprehensive and collision insurance until the loan is fully paid.
