EECANuova Zelandafino a 70K NZDnon disponibile

Closed co-funding for large energy users to employ an energy graduate and identify energy-efficiency savings.

Questa opportunità è attualmente disponibile in inglese.

This support helped employers bring in an energy graduate to analyse energy use and identify savings. EECA could cover up to 50% of salary and superannuation costs, capped at NZ$70,000 over two years. The contribution depended on the graduate’s experience and skills.

The defined role could include mapping energy and material flows, computer-based energy modelling, investigating plant or process changes and trials, exploring fuel switching, raising staff awareness of energy savings, or helping commission projects and verify energy and carbon savings.

EECA’s Direct Engagement programme, which included energy graduate projects, closed for 2025/26. These are the published historical terms.

Eligibility

  • Public and private sector businesses and organisations could qualify, including state-owned enterprises and local government.
  • The employer had to spend more than NZ$3 million a year on stationary energy—energy used at fixed sites—and have high emissions.
  • The proposed investigations had to go beyond the organisation’s usual work, with a barrier to undertaking them without support.
  • The employer had to provide support and mentorship to the graduate.
  • The published minimum investment requirement was NZ$35,000 per year over two years.
  • The role or projects had to have a defined scope and deliver at least 2 GWh of energy savings each year, together with carbon reductions representing good value for government funding.
