Energy-efficiency rebates
Cooperative members can receive $500 per ton towards a qualifying ground-source heat pump installed at their Federated electricity account.

Federated REA rewards members who buy energy-efficient equipment. This entry covers its ground-source heat-pump rebate: equipment that uses the ground as a heat source for heating. The claim form includes installations serving a new or existing home, a shop or a business/commercial building.
The rebate is $500 per ton of heat-pump capacity and is issued as a check. Here, a ton measures heating or cooling capacity, rather than equipment weight; the form defines one ton as 12,000 British thermal units per hour.
Eligibility
You must be a Federated cooperative member with a valid account at the installation address. The form lists homeowners, landlords, builders and an “other” member category.
The ground-source heat pump must have been purchased on or after 1 January 2026 and be installed within Federated’s service territory where the cooperative supplies electricity. You must sign a declaration that the unit qualifies and has been installed at the stated address. Federated is not responsible for inaccurate information supplied by vendors.

- Submit the complete claim and a copy of the original sales receipt within 90 days of purchase.
- Installed equipment must be at a valid Federated account within its service territory.
- Rebates are offered while funds last.
Download the 2026 ground-source heat-pump rebate form from Federated REA. Fill it out completely, including the equipment and contractor details, location number and member number, then sign it. Incomplete forms will not be processed.
