Business Growth Action Grant
Up to £1,000 reimbursed for low-carbon equipment or technology for Tamworth businesses trading for 2–5 years that complete Growth Ladder or Build and Scale.
Questa opportunità è attualmente disponibile in inglese.
Fund new low-carbon equipment or technology that reduces your business’s energy use, waste or emissions. The investment must provide a lasting benefit and put recommendations from Staffordshire County Council’s Growth Ladder or Build and Scale programme into practice.
The grant can contribute up to £1,000 towards a larger purchase. You must pay the supplier in full before Tamworth Borough Council reimburses you.
After the project, the Council may request information about the results, photographs or a short case study. It may contact you for updates for up to 12 months after you receive the grant; successful applicants may also be invited to promotional activity.
Eligibility
- Your business must be based in Tamworth with registered premises within the borough boundary. You must be a small or medium-sized business (SME) or self-employed, have traded for between 2 and 5 years, and have a Companies House number or Unique Tax Reference (UTR).
- You must successfully complete Staffordshire County Council’s Growth Ladder or Build and Scale programme. You can apply while participating, but must complete it before receiving grant funding. Places on these programmes are limited.
- Your investment must directly support the programme’s growth recommendations or plans, and your business must be ready to grow, scale or improve performance.
- Your business must be in good standing with the Council, with no outstanding debts or unresolved enforcement matters that could affect eligibility. The grant must not take you above the £315,000 subsidy limit under UK subsidy control rules.
- Complete the approved investment and submit your claim by 11:59pm on 28 February 2027.
The grant excludes laptops, tablets and mobile phones; salaries, wages and owner drawings; rent, utilities, business rates and other running costs; repairs and maintenance; website development and marketing; online subscriptions; insurance and debt repayment; VAT, tax and National Insurance; working capital; personal vehicles; regular stock; and entertainment, hospitality, food and consumables. Existing projects or activities and anything bought before the formal grant award are excluded. The Council can also rule other costs ineligible.
