Energy funding programme — balcony solar
A one-time grant helps household solar-system owners buy plug-in solar panels installed in Wallisellen.

This route through the city’s energy funding programme supports small plug-in solar installations whose electricity is used directly by household appliances. The grant is CHF 250 per installation and household, limited to 50% of purchase price. There is no entitlement to funding, and awards depend on the available energy-fund budget.
Eligibility
- You must own the installation, and it must be located within Wallisellen.
- Choose a system listed on topten.ch, with an inverter output no greater than 600 W. Notify the local electricity utility, die werke, and retain proof of notification including the declaration of conformity.
- Inform your landlord before installation. Permission is required for installations in core zones, areas covered by townscape or monument-protection inventories, or areas subject to a monument-protection order.
- Submit the claim within 90 days of purchase.
- The city or its appointed inspectors may check the installation. Unlawfully used funding must be repaid with 5% interest from the payment date. If the city publicises funded measures, it may publish applicant data, the project location, technology and related images.

After installing the panels, complete and sign the linked claim form. Send it to Stadt Wallisellen, Tiefbau + Landschaft, Umwelt, Zentralstrasse 9, Postfach, 8304 Wallisellen, within 90 days of purchase. Include correct bank account details, proof of notification to die werke with the declaration of conformity, the purchase invoice and photos of the installed system. Complete applications are processed in order of receipt. The balcony-solar instructions provide for a written decision within 30 days of receipt and payment within 30 days after the decision is communicated. The general rules allow inspection before payment; awards normally last two years, with implementation reported within that period. A reasoned extension request is possible; otherwise the award lapses.
