Idaho residential energy rebates

AvistaIdahosluit 15 jan 2027

Rebates for efficient replacement windows and doors, and qualifying heating conversions, in Idaho homes with Avista energy service.

Deze mogelijkheid is momenteel in het Engels beschikbaar.

Avista pays rebates for eligible improvements to existing homes. For replacement windows and sliding glass doors, the U-factor measures heat transfer: the lower qualifying band receives the larger rebate. For U-factors 0.29–0.23 and 0.22 or lower, respectively, the amounts are:

Primary heating fuel Window: contractor / DIY Sliding glass door: contractor / DIY
Avista electricity $180 / $90; $225 / $112 $480 / $240; $600 / $300
Avista natural gas $45 / $22; $56 / $28 $100 / $50; $120 / $60

Amounts are per window or door; each cell lists the 0.29–0.23 band first, then 0.22 or lower.

Qualifying storm windows receive $3 per square foot when contractor-installed or $1 when self-installed. They must be ENERGY STAR certified, or have emissivity no more than 0.22 and solar transmissivity at least 0.55; check the product specification sheet for these ratings. ENERGY STAR-certified or R-5 insulated exterior doors receive $20 each, limited to four doors in an existing home.

Replacing straight-resistance electric space heat with a natural gas forced-air furnace receives $2,100. Replacing both electric space and water heating with natural gas at the same time receives $2,850; the gas water heater is eligible only together with the furnace. These are fuel-conversion rebates.

The rebate cannot exceed the actual cost of the measure. Avista makes the final eligibility decision and may change the programme without notice. Payment is by check or Avista account credit; third parties receive checks only. The form allows eight weeks for processing and payment. Avista does not guarantee a reduction in your energy costs.

Eligibility

Your home must be a primary residence in Idaho, from a single-family home through a fourplex, including manufactured and modular homes. Its primary space-heating fuel must be Avista-provided electricity or natural gas. Seasonal homes, recreational homes and condos are excluded.

  • Windows and sliding glass doors must replace existing windows or sliding glass doors, including glass and frame, in an existing home. For window rebates, annual use must be over 4,000 kWh of electricity or over 120 therms of natural gas heat.
  • For the gas conversion route, you must have Avista electric service and replace electric baseboard heating or an electric furnace. The previous 12 months must show at least 4,000 kWh of electricity and less than 340 therms of gas. Use a licensed contractor; the natural gas service, meter and heating system must be operational before submitting.
  • Only new equipment qualifies. Leased equipment and replacement equipment paid for by an insurance claim are excluded. Homeowners must comply with applicable codes and regulations.

Signing the agreement releases Avista from installation-related claims and requires you to cover its related losses and expenses, including legal fees, and defend it if asked. If either party brings an action to enforce the agreement, the prevailing party can recover reasonable legal fees and costs. Read the agreement on page 4 before signing.

For contractor-installed windows and sliding doors, a licensed contractor must provide an itemized invoice showing quantities, U-factors and cost. Self-installers provide the same invoice information, post-project photos and the signed installation certification: follow manufacturer instructions, including flashing and air sealing. For storm windows, certify that existing windows are dry, with no missing glass, rotting wood or water leaks, and that you caulked the top and sides; attach a specification sheet or ENERGY STAR certificate.

Avista may inspect installation before payment and request access on reasonable notice after payment for evaluation and measurement. You can request payment directly to a vendor, but Avista must approve that release and you remain responsible for programme requirements.
