Residential efficiency rebates
A $38 rebate for residential electricity customers installing a new ENERGY STAR-certified clothes washer in a single-family or manufactured home.

The washer rebate reduces your purchase cost through a credit on your PUD account. The $38 payment cannot exceed the invoice cost, and the PUD must approve your claim. If approved, the credit arrives approximately six to eight weeks after you apply.
This entry covers the ordinary clothes-washer route for single-family and manufactured homes, with the rebate credited to the customer named on the utility account.
Eligibility
- You must be the Pend Oreille PUD customer responsible for the utility account at the installation address.
- The washer must be installed in a single-family or manufactured home within Pend Oreille PUD’s service territory.
- Buy a new ENERGY STAR-certified washer. Its manufacturer and model number must appear on the ENERGY STAR certified clothes-washer list.
- You or a contractor may install it. Installation and completion must be on or after 1 January 2026, and the installation must meet applicable codes and regulations.
- The PUD may inspect the installed washer. Product warranties come from the manufacturer rather than the utility.

Before starting, call Pend Oreille PUD on 509-447-3137 or email conservation@popud.org to check eligibility and available funds. Funding is limited, rebates are not guaranteed, and offers may change or stop.
Complete the appliance project information form and submit it within 90 days of installation. Include the equipment or contractor invoice showing ENERGY STAR certification, manufacturer and model number, purchase or installation date, and installation cost. Confirm that the installed model is on the ENERGY STAR certified washer list.
