Community Climate and Nature Fund
Grants of up to £10,000 for town and parish councils, community organisations and sports clubs installing renewable energy in Stratford-on-Avon District.
Deze mogelijkheid is momenteel in het Engels beschikbaar.
You can seek funding for solar panels, battery storage or air-source heat pumps through the fund’s renewable-energy route. Your project must directly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
The council can award up to £10,000 per application. Your project may cost more, and eligible organisations can submit several applications and receive more than £10,000 in total through successful applications. You do not have to contribute funding from other sources (match funding), but doing so increases your assessment score. Applications compete on project quality and value for money; an application does not guarantee an award. Where scores are tied, projects in underrepresented parts of the district are prioritised.
Eligibility
- Apply as a town or parish council, a properly constituted charity, community group or community sports club. Schools cannot apply. Your project must take place within Stratford-on-Avon District and must not already have started or finished.
- Quantify the expected emissions savings. For renewable-energy installations, provide current fossil-fuel energy use from the relevant bills and the expected renewable-energy supply, using installer or contractor estimates where available. Explain the community benefits, how many people will benefit and any community engagement.
- Nominate a project delivery lead, prepare a risk assessment proportionate to the project, and show how you will measure success. Be able to cover cost increases outside the grant agreement and any ongoing costs not included in the application for as long as needed for the project to succeed.
- For material alterations to a building, show that you own it or have explicit permission for the work. If planning permission or Listed Building Consent is needed, show that it has been approved or is being processed.
- If you will spend more than £2,500 of grant money with one supplier, submit three quotations received within the previous 12 months.
- Declare previous public financial support, including grants, below-market rents and preferential loans. If subsidy-control rules apply, the council seeks to use Minimal Financial Assistance: this type of public support must not exceed £315,000 over a rolling three-fiscal-year period. You must monitor the total and will be asked to confirm that it has not been exceeded if offered funding.

Before payment, you must enter a formal grant agreement with Stratford-on-Avon District Council. Notify the council immediately of material changes after submitting your application. Your answers become binding if an agreement is made, and misrepresentation may terminate it. Incorrect information can make assistance repayable on demand or stop future payments.
You may be asked for progress updates. After completion, provide an environmental evaluation and evidence of all expenditure and compliant procurement. The council prefers funds to be spent within one year of receipt, but can allow longer case by case; state your proposed timescale in the application.
