Green roof grant
Homeowners in Brühl (Baden) can receive 50% of construction costs, up to €770, to green a roof larger than 30 m².

The municipality contributes to greening house and garage roofs as part of its environmental and climate-protection programme. This entry covers owners greening more than 30 m² of roof. The grant covers half the construction costs up to €770 and is paid after the work is completed and a municipal representative has inspected the roof.
Funding depends on the available municipal budget. Meeting the conditions does not give you a legal entitlement to a grant.
Eligibility
- The roof must be in Brühl (Baden). This entry covers homeowners greening a residential-building or garage roof larger than 30 m².
- The greening must be voluntary. Work required by law, a building-permit condition or the development plan is excluded.
- Submit the application before starting the work.
If you breach the rules or give false information, the grant is revoked. Any money improperly received becomes repayable on revocation, with interest from the date you received it at two percentage points above the applicable ECB base rate.

- Apply before starting work. The 2026 rules apply through 31 December 2026; funding depends on the available municipal budget.
Complete and sign the roof-greening grant form on page 5 of the 2026 rules. Attach a site plan marking the building to be greened and a cost quotation. Submit these before starting work to the municipal environmental officer (Umweltsachbearbeiter), Gemeindeverwaltung Brühl, Hauptstraße 1, 68782 Brühl.
The municipality checks the documents and sends a written decision stating whether it can provide a grant and the amount. Payment follows completion and a municipal roof inspection. Request payment in writing, with invoices proving the costs, within one year of the award; otherwise the award expires.
