Electric bicycle grant
A €150 grant per new electric bicycle for electricity customers living or based in Schwerin.

Buy a new pedelec, E-bike or electric cargo bicycle from 1 January 2026. The grant is €150 per bicycle, including for businesses liable for VAT, where €150 is the gross amount. Each customer can receive support for at most two bicycles, and the same bicycle cannot be funded twice.
Stadtwerke Schwerin pays the grant into your bank account after checking your application. There is no legal entitlement to funding. The 2026 programme supports at most 20 bicycles, allocated in the order applications arrive by post; it ends early if that quota is reached.
Eligibility
- Individuals, partnerships and legal entities can apply. This entry covers applicants whose home or business address is in Schwerin within the Schwerin grid area.
- You must be the buyer and be a Stadtwerke Schwerin electricity customer when the grant is paid and for at least one further year.
- Used or self-built bicycles and retrofit kits are excluded. Companies affiliated with Stadtwerke Schwerin are excluded.
- If you sell the bicycle within one year after the funding approval, you must immediately repay the full grant. You must allow Stadtwerke Schwerin or its appointed representative to inspect the bicycle to check that the funds were used as intended.
- Stadtwerke Schwerin may recover the grant, proportionately where appropriate, for misuse or breach of your obligations. The funding rules in force when support is granted apply.

- Apply within one month of purchase. Maximum 20 bicycles in 2026; awards follow postal receipt order and the programme ends early if the quota is reached.
Submit your application no later than one month after buying the bicycle. The programme runs until 31 December 2026 and may end sooner if its 20-bicycle quota is reached.
Download the 2026 application form, complete and sign it, and post it with a copy of your purchase receipt to Stadtwerke Schwerin GmbH (SWS), Eckdrift 43–45, 19061 Schwerin. Stadtwerke Schwerin checks the application and transfers approved support to your bank account.
