You can finance new solar panels and systems, additions or upgrades to existing systems, grid-connected or off-grid inverters, home batteries and new grid-connected solar-and-battery combinations.
This is a buy-now-pay-later credit plan. Finkey pays the installer directly after you confirm delivery; you repay the financed amount and fees in fixed fortnightly instalments. Finance is AUD 2,000–35,000 over six months to five years, with 0% interest for the life of the plan. The money is tied to the vendor invoice and is not paid into your bank account.
Fees are AUD 75 to apply, AUD 2.30 a week for account keeping and AUD 15 if a direct debit is dishonoured. You can make extra repayments or repay the entire outstanding balance early without an extra repayment or discharge charge. Extra repayments cannot be withdrawn again.
Once Finkey has paid the vendor following your confirmation, you remain responsible for the borrowed balance if the project stops or is disputed. You must pursue any refund from the vendor.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18, an Australian citizen or permanent resident, employed and a homeowner listed on the property title. Renters and commercial or small-business customers are excluded.
- You must use a qualified installer or tradesperson already approved and onboarded as a Finkey Network Vendor. The project must meet the plan’s green criteria and cost AUD 2,000–35,000.
- You must pass Finkey’s credit assessment and provide verifiable personal and financial information and acceptable identification. Applicants below Finkey’s credit-score threshold or with a credit rating below its lower mid-tier standard are unsuitable. Unpaid defaults, current or previous bankruptcy and being a party to a court judgment also exclude applicants.

Start a finance enquiry through the finance-customer route on Finkey’s application page. You can seek pre-approval before asking for quotes. Get a quote from a Finkey Network Vendor and submit your own online application with the required personal, financial and identification information. Approval remains subject to Finkey’s assessment.
Accept the credit offer and agreed repayment schedule before the project proceeds. Confirm delivery through Finkey’s process so it can pay the vendor on your behalf, then repay according to your credit contract.
