Homeowner sustainability loan
Borrow €2,500–€10,000 for insulation, heat pumps or solar panels in the existing Bunschoten home you own and live in.
Esta oportunidade está atualmente disponível em inglês.
The loan covers municipality-approved improvement costs, including materials and professional installation, after deducting other subsidies. You can also submit invoices for materials you install yourself.
You repay the loan monthly, with each normal instalment covering interest and part of the borrowed amount. The term is 10 years below €7,500 and 15 years from €7,500. SVn’s published nominal rate was 1.70% when checked on 12 October 2026; the rate set when SVn receives your application stays fixed for the loan’s term.
There is no closing fee or separate fee for the account holding money for the works. Adviser costs are yours; special bank-transfer charges can apply, and late payments can incur interest and collection or administration costs. The loan remains repayable if your contractor fails to deliver.
SVn pays approved invoices from a dedicated building account, normally available for 12 months and ending earlier when the works finish or the loan is fully drawn. You can request one extension, up to 24 months in total. Unused funds at closure reduce your loan. Suppliers are paid directly; if you have paid an invoice yourself, submit proof of payment for reimbursement. Pay any invoice amount above the remaining loan balance yourself. SVn can also close the account after six months without transactions and use its balance to repay the loan. Interest credited on the account, at the rate in your loan documents, offsets your periodic payment for at most 12 months.
You may repay early without a penalty, with at least €250 per extra repayment. Partial early repayment normally reduces your monthly payment; if it falls below €35, SVn may shorten the term instead.
Eligibility
- You must be an adult who owns and lives in an existing home in Bunschoten, registered there in the population register when the complete application is submitted. The home must be suitable and intended for permanent occupation.
- Apply before carrying out the measures. Provide quotations or other adequate evidence of the energy and CO₂ reductions. Costs must be reasonable for the expected result and at least €2,500 including VAT. The municipality can refuse the request if its loan budget is insufficient.
- A home cannot receive another allocation within three years. Homes due or likely to be demolished within ten years are excluded.
- SVn must approve your ability to meet the extra monthly payments alongside existing expenses. It assesses income, household and work situation; home equity and future energy-bill savings do not substitute for affordability. Normally at least one applicant must be younger than 76; a municipality can agree an exception with SVn.
- If you borrow jointly, each borrower is responsible for the whole debt.
