Rainwater collector purchase grant
Residents of individual houses can receive up to €120 towards a rainwater tank for outdoor use.

This entry covers individual-house tanks of at least 1,560 litres, above ground or buried, for outdoor use only. The grant helps households save water and adapt to drought.
The municipality can cover up to 50% of the tank purchase price, capped at €120 per household for this covered range. Delivery, works, accessories and installation costs are excluded. You may combine it with State, Region and Métropole de Lyon aid, but all aid together must stay within 80%.
Eligibility
- You must be an adult living in an individual house in Rillieux-la-Pape. Owners and tenants can apply; tenants need the owner’s advance consent and must leave the tank in place if they move. Only one application is allowed per dwelling.
- Buy the tank between 1 January and 31 December 2026 from a shop, artisan or business in Métropole de Lyon or Communauté de communes de Miribel et du Plateau. An online seller must offer collection at an establishment in one of these areas.
- Use the water outdoors only, with no connection to the sewerage network. Follow the Métropole de Lyon sewerage-service rules and national rainwater requirements. Permitted outdoor uses are watering your vegetable garden or green spaces, cleaning outdoor surfaces, washing vehicles at home and supplying decorative fountains not intended for drinking. Do not drink the water or use it for cooking, dishes or personal hygiene.
- Install and connect the tank in compliance with rainwater rules within one year of purchase. Do not resell it for four years after signing the agreement, and provide proof that you still have it if the municipality requests it. Breaching these commitments requires repayment. The agreement also requires repayment if the equipment is resold, without specifying a time limit in that clause.
- Keep the equipment in working order, visually inspect it annually and maintain it regularly: check water-network compliance, replace filters, operate valves and draw-off points, and empty and clean storage equipment. Do not add antifreeze to the tank.

After purchasing the tank, submit a complete claim through the municipal online procedure, which requires an account, or by post to Mairie de Rillieux-la-Pape, Direction de l’Aménagement et des Espaces Publics, Mission Transition Ecologique et Energétique, 165 rue Ampère, 69140 Rillieux-la-Pape.
Provide the completed application (paper form for postal claims), signed and dated agreement, both sides of your identity card, proof of address less than three months old matching the invoice, owner consent if you rent, the invoice in your name showing the date, supplier address, price and tank volume, and bank details in your name and address.
The complete claim must reach the municipality before 31 January 2027; late or incomplete claims are refused. The municipality confirms the award after assessing the claim, and the Trésor Public pays it. Payment may take several months after notification.
