Electric vehicle loan
A fixed-rate loan for individuals buying a new or recent used fully electric car or motorhome, with financing for a charging point and related costs.

Borrow from €2,500 and repay in fixed monthly instalments. You can borrow up to 120% of the vehicle purchase price to include costs such as a charging point, registration tax or an insurance premium. Repayment terms run from 4 to 84 months for new vehicles, with a maximum of 60 months for recent used vehicles. The permitted duration also depends on the amount borrowed, and Belfius assesses what you can afford to repay.
For a new vehicle, you can draw the loan up to 12 months after signing the contract and begin repayment only when you draw it.
You can repay all or part of the loan early, but Belfius charges for early repayment. For full early repayment, the charge is capped at 1% of the principal repaid when more than one year remains, or 0.5% when one year or less remains.
Eligibility
- The vehicle must be new or no more than three years old. This entry covers fully electric cars and motorhomes.
- Your application must be accepted by Belfius. Depending on your repayment capacity and loan amount, the bank may require security, such as a guarantee from another person or pledged savings.
- Belfius Credit Cover insurance is optional. Its cost is excluded from the annual percentage rate (APR).

Simulate the loan on Belfius’s product page, then apply through Belfius Mobile or Belfius Direct Net. You can also contact a Belfius branch.
Provide an invoice or signed order form. If your salary is not paid into Belfius, provide payslips for the last two months; a proof of replacement income is the alternative for that income type. Sign the accepted contract digitally. Belfius pays the loan into your account when the vehicle is delivered; follow the instructions sent in the app.
