Zelená domácnostiam
Grants help household owners in Slovakia install solar panels, heat pumps and other renewable electricity or heating equipment.
Cette fiche est actuellement disponible en anglais.
The programme helps pay for photovoltaic panels, small wind turbines, solar thermal collectors, biomass boilers and heat pumps in a house or a separate flat within a house. SIEA pays the contribution directly to your household’s bank account after the equipment is installed, the installer has been paid in full and your application has passed its checks.
Support is the lower of the equipment allowance and 50% of eligible supply and installation costs. The base allowances are:
- Photovoltaic panels and wind turbines: €500 per kW, covering up to 2 kW, for a maximum of €1,000 for either technology.
- Solar thermal collectors: €500 per kW, covering up to 4 kW, for a maximum of €2,000.
- Biomass boilers: €120 per kW, covering up to 15 kW, for a maximum of €1,800.
- Heat pumps: €400 per kW, covering up to 10 kW, for a maximum of €4,000.
The installed equipment may have a larger capacity, but support is limited to the capacities listed above. Hybrid photovoltaic/solar-thermal panels use the photovoltaic rate and output limit.
A 15% increase in the allowance is available for zero-emission equipment if your home is in an air-quality-management area or your household stops using solid fuels. These areas appear in the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute’s annual list with risk level 3. The increase raises the maximum allowance to €1,150 for photovoltaic panels or wind turbines, €2,300 for solar thermal collectors and €4,600 for heat pumps. Biomass boilers do not receive it. Meeting both conditions still gives a maximum increase of 15%, and the 50% eligible-cost limit still applies.
Eligibility
- You must own the house or a separate flat in a house as a natural person. Joint owners can apply; owners with fractional shares must hold the majority needed to decide how the property is managed. Apartment blocks are outside this scheme.
- Installations can be anywhere in Slovakia. Other buildings used as the household’s home, such as a recreational house, can qualify if the applicant has permanent residence there. Unfinished houses and buildings without an assigned building number are excluded.
- The property cannot be owned or co-owned by a legal entity or recorded as business assets. Businesses and other organisations carrying out economic activity cannot account for more than 20% of the relevant energy costs. More than 20% of its floor area cannot be rented or otherwise made available to another person or organisation, regardless of the purpose or who uses it. The floor-area test concerns jointly supplied energy and counts all floors.
- Use a model in SIEA’s eligible-equipment register. If the installation uses a voltage inverter, it must also be in the programme’s eligible-inverter register. You may choose your installer freely, but you are responsible for checking that they are professionally qualified and authorised to install that technology.
- Delivery, installation, commissioning and all supply expenditure must take place after 1 January 2024. Earlier installations meeting this rule can apply under the new system.
- You cannot receive support for the same technology at the same property if it already has an approved SIEA application or has received support from other public sources, including Zelená domácnostiam, Zelená solidarita or Obnov dom. Photovoltaic panels on agricultural land are excluded. A biomass boiler must replace equipment burning solid fossil fuels. An air-to-air heat pump cannot qualify in a building with a water-based heating system.
- Commit to operating the equipment for at least five years from the contract taking effect, and cooperate with on-site inspections.

New registrations are currently closed. Registration in the old voucher system closed on 15 September 2026. SIEA plans to open registration and requests to reserve funding in October 2026; no exact opening date has been announced in the published timetable.
When registration opens, register through the programme’s online form, request a funding reservation and submit the complete application. You must register again even if you registered under the former voucher system. Once SIEA reserves funding, you have 45 calendar days, starting the next day, to submit the full application. This deadline cannot be extended. You may submit the full application before funding is reserved if your installation is already complete. Your application is assessed under the terms in force when funding is reserved.
The full application includes the installation invoice, proof that the entire price has been paid and your declaration that the household meets the eligibility rules. Provide photos identifying the property, the equipment and its model nameplates. You must also provide proof that you own the bank account for payment. Where eligible co-owners are not spouses and do not jointly own that account, their written consent to payment into it is required.
After SIEA approves the application, sign and return its contract within 30 days of receiving it. The eligible owners must sign. For a paper contract, return a copy with officially authenticated signatures. The electronic route requires an activated electronic mailbox and qualified electronic signatures with qualified electronic timestamps. The contract takes effect the day after publication in the central contract register. Payment goes directly to your household’s account.
