Residential heat-pump rebate

Ashburnham Municipal Light PlantMassachusettsaté 1,5 mil USDencerra 31/01/2027

AMLP electric customers can receive up to $1,500 per address each year for qualifying residential air-source heat pumps.

Esta oportunidade está atualmente disponível em inglês.

The rebate covers air-source heat pumps, including mini-splits, for home heating and cooling. It pays $500 per ton of cooling capacity: one ton is 12,000 BTUs. The exact amount uses the cooling capacity on the AHRI equipment certificate, with a maximum of $1,500 per address per calendar year.

Rebates below $1,000 are issued as an electricity bill credit. Rebates above $1,000 are paid by electronic funds transfer or check.

Eligibility

  • You must be an Ashburnham Municipal Light Plant electric customer applying for equipment at your service address.
  • The air-source heat pump must have SEER2 of at least 15.2, HSPF2 of at least 8.1 and COP of at least 1.75 at 5°F. SEER2 measures seasonal cooling efficiency, HSPF2 measures seasonal heating efficiency and COP measures heating performance at that outdoor temperature. Ratings must meet the thresholds without rounding up; ask your contractor for the AHRI certificate showing the equipment ratings.
  • Ductless mini-split units that provide cooling only are excluded.
  • Both purchase and installation must take place between 1 January and 31 December 2026. A Massachusetts licensed contractor must install the system; self-installation is excluded.
  • By signing the form, you certify that you received the contractor’s Manual J sizing report and are satisfied that the heat pump will meet your heating and cooling needs. This is the contractor’s report used to size the system for your home.

NextZero’s heat-pump assessment and related advice and quality-assurance services are optional; they are not required to apply for this rebate.
